About Us
History
Spayd's came from "humble beginnings." Sometime during the early 1970's it evolved from a huge vegetable gardening hobby into a small supplemental income source for a "stay at home" mom. By the mid 70's, the family decided to become an official greenhouse business and thus, Mary Spayd's Greenhouse was launched. Russ and Mary Spayd, and their five children, spent many hours toiling in the greenhouses helping their business to grow. Upon graduating from college, the Spayd children decided to work in the family business and thus the business was expanded into a year-round operation. In the early 1990's the business name was changed to Spayd's Greenhouses, Nursery and Floral Inc. to reflect the new divisions that were added to the business, including a full-service florist and gift shop, nursery and full-scale landscaping division.
From day one our business was built on several very strong principles - tremendous hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence in all that we do. We are committed to continuously improving and adapting the business, to meet the needs of the ever-changing market place. Russ and Mary Spayd and their children continue to grow and lead the business.
